Documents

A basic preparation list. The competent authority creates the personal checklist based on citizenship and place of application.

• A valid passport and copies of its pages
• A completed application form and recent photographs
• The I-797 or petition number, the contract or offer, your qualification and evidence that you meet the category
• Proof of funds, accommodation and health insurance — where required
• A police clearance certificate, medical documents, translation and legalisation — if listed for the chosen category

4. 4Attend the interview and enter within the limits of the authorised employment

• Work only under the conditions of your status
• Keep track of the I-94 and the petition validity
• Start an extension or change of employer well in advance
