Destination Thailand Visa

A multiple-entry visa of up to five years for remote work for clients outside Thailand, and for programmes such as Muay Thai or cookery training. Each entry allows a stay of up to 180 days with one in-country extension. As at the date checked, proof of funds from THB 500,000 and a minimum age of 20 are required.

A ten-year visa for wealthy individuals, pensioners, remote professionals of large companies and highly skilled specialists. The programme is run by the BOI investment agency and the requirements differ by category.

What citizens of Russia and Kazakhstan need

A foreign national living on a long-stay visa must report their place of stay every 90 days. Missing it brings a fine, and doing so repeatedly complicates renewing your status.

Prepare at home in advance

Police clearance certificate from the Russian Interior Ministry
Ordered through Gosuslugi or the Interior Ministry; issuance takes up to 30 days. Filing abroad usually requires an apostille and a sworn translation.

Consular legalisation instead of an apostille
Thailand is not a party to the Apostille Convention. Documents are accepted after consular legalisation: certification in the issuing country, then at a Thai mission. Thai authorities will not accept an apostille.
