Who it is for

• The sponsor's valid residence
• Income from AED 4,000, or AED 3,000 plus accommodation
• An evidenced relationship; a medical examination for family members aged 18 and over

Documents

A basic preparation list. The competent authority creates the personal checklist based on citizenship and place of application.

• A valid passport and copies of its pages
• A completed application form and recent photographs
• Attested certificates, the sponsor's passport or Emirates ID, salary, accommodation, insurance and the medical examination
• Proof of funds, accommodation and health insurance — where required
• A police clearance certificate, medical documents, translation and legalisation — if listed for the chosen category

Application steps

1. 1Have the relationship documents attested
2. 2Apply for the entry permit or a change of status
3. 3Complete the medical examination for family members aged 18 and over
4. 4Receive the residence permit and the Emirates ID

After arrival

• A dependant's validity never exceeds the sponsor's
• Renew or cancel family permits together with the sponsor's status
• Arrange school and health insurance
