Standard work visa
For ordinary employment the employer acts as sponsor. It starts the work permit and residence process; standard work residence is usually issued for two years and renewed if the conditions are met.

Who it is for
- An offer from a licensed employer
- A work permit under the applicable MOHRE or free-zone rules
- Medical fitness and a security check
Documents
A basic preparation list. The competent authority creates the personal checklist based on citizenship and place of application.
- A valid passport and copies of its pages
- A completed application form and recent photographs
- The offer or contract, the work permit, an attested degree where required, the medical examination and insurance
- Proof of funds, accommodation and health insurance — where required
- A police clearance certificate, medical documents, translation and legalisation — if listed for the chosen category
Application steps

- 4Receive the Emirates ID and the residence permit
After arrival
- Check that the contract matches the official offer
- Activate your health insurance
- If the job ends, make sure the status is cancelled or changed
