Documents

A basic preparation list. The competent authority creates the personal checklist based on citizenship and place of application.

• A valid passport and copies of its pages
• A completed application form and recent photographs
• Form EX-02, passports, documents on the relationship, income, housing and the sponsor's status
• Proof of funds, accommodation and health insurance — where required
• A police clearance certificate, medical documents, translation and legalisation — if listed for the chosen category

Application steps

1. 1Check the relative's category and the sponsor's eligibility
2. 2Obtain the suitable-housing report and prove your funds
3. 3The sponsor files the application in Spain
4. 4After approval the relative obtains the visa and the TIE

After arrival

• Enter within the period stated in the decision or visa
• Request the TIE
• Arrange the empadronamiento, healthcare and school for the children
