Who it is for
- Citizenship outside the EU, EEA or Switzerland
- A contract, a promise of a contract or acceptable proof of the employer's interest
- A qualification for a regulated profession where applicable
Documents
A basic preparation list. The competent authority creates the personal checklist based on citizenship and place of application.
- A valid passport and copies of its pages
- A completed application form and recent photographs
- The employment contract or promise of one, the IEFP declaration and a professional qualification where required
- Proof of funds, accommodation and health insurance — where required
- A police clearance certificate, medical documents, translation and legalisation — if listed for the chosen category
Application steps
- 1Obtain the contract or promise of a contract
- 2Gather the general visa documents, accommodation, funds and insurance
- 3Apply for the residence visa at the consulate
- 4After arrival, complete the residence permit procedure at AIMA
After arrival
- Obtain the NIF and NISS if you do not have them yet
- Register your address and the residence permit at AIMA
- The employer registers the employment with Social Security
