Who it is for

Documents
A basic preparation list. The competent authority creates the personal checklist based on citizenship and place of application.
- A valid passport and copies of its pages
- A completed application form and recent photographs
- Contracts or an employer letter, your qualification, income, experience, accommodation and health insurance
- Proof of funds, accommodation and health insurance — where required
- A police clearance certificate, medical documents, translation and legalisation — if listed for the chosen category
Application steps

- 3Apply for the D visa at the consulate
- 4Request the permesso within eight working days of arrival
After arrival
- Request the permesso di soggiorno
- Obtain the codice fiscale and register your address
