Who it is for
- A German or comparable foreign degree, or a suitable IT qualification
- A skilled job offer for at least six months
- The job matches the qualification and the salary meets the applicable 2026 threshold
Documents
A basic preparation list. The competent authority creates the personal checklist based on citizenship and place of application.
- A valid passport and copies of its pages
- A completed application form and recent photographs
- An employment contract stating salary and duration, the degree and proof of its comparability; a licence for a regulated profession
- Proof of funds, accommodation and health insurance — where required
- A police clearance certificate, medical documents, translation and legalisation — if listed for the chosen category
